Chad Alan Fletcher

HE'S HERE!
Chad Alan Fletcher
6/27/09 11:01 p.m.
8lbs 9 oz
20.9 inches
Via C-Section
4 1/2 days oldProud Daddy!Tired Mommy after surgery loving Baby ChadWe are so excited to announce the birth of our healthy baby boy! We couldn't be more blessed to have this little one finally here!

The Story: Went in to the Doc Office last Friday and was starting to efface and dilate, so the Doc and I started talking about my "options" being she was leaving for a week and Chad was already huge in all the ultrasounds. She comes back into the office and says "We can get you in the hospital today at 3pm since the 8 and 9 pm are already booked." After hyperventilating a little bit we decided to go with that plan.

We got to the hospital around 5pm Friday night, and after cervidil and pitocin all night and all day Saturday, the Doc broke my water around 1:00pm in hopes I would dilate more. Around 9:30pm the Doc came back and said I was still a 2. She was concerned about him being so big that his head wasn't going to fit in my pelvis (Called Cephalopelvic Disproportion) and a C-Section was most likely the best way to go.

At 11:01pm Chad was here! (My Doc doesn't mess around) :) When she was bringing him out she said "Oh Momma, this head was definitely not going to fit!" :)

There is nothing better in the world than watching your son be born and experiencing your child's birth! He is such a healthy, sweet, beautiful boy and we are overjoyed to be spending eternity with him!

(More pictures to come once I download our camera, these are from my phone)

He's made a home...

With one week left Chad has decided to make a home in my tummy, no signs of anything yet! We had an ultrasound on Tuesday this week and he is already weighing 7lbs 8 oz, which means to a pregnant lady, time to arrive! :) Our ultrasound tech was super nice and tried to get a good 3D of his face but he is so squished in there she had a hard time, but she did manage this cute one below! We are getting so excited, I'm trying to do as much school work as possible so when he's finally arrives I'm all caught up and Alan is busy getting the house ready and has put together Chads bouncer, swing, stroller and car seat. I have the baby bag packed for the hospital but I still need to take care of mine. I just cant figure out exactly what I'll want there besides my phone charger and camera! :) Hopefully he decides to come sooner than later! We cant wait!

Cali Shower, Swollen Feet and a Hospital Visit

This past weekend, Alan and I made it out to Cali for our Baby Shower with friends and family. We had a great time celebrating with everyone. Thanks to all of you who could come out to support us and a HUGE thanks to my mom, sisters (and in laws) Sarah, Leah, Megan and Lindsay for all your hard work and effort in getting it all ready for me, it wouldn't have been such a fun time without all of you! (And hopefully Mom has caught up on her sleep now) :) Here are just a couple of pictures:
Cupcakes! Yum!

My mom always asks me occasionally if my feet and legs are swelling, and I keep saying I haven't noticed anything. Well, of course, while we are in CA my feet and legs swell up and my mom points it out to me and since then every single day my feet and ankles have been huge by the end of the day! Bring on the 12 hours Clinicals! Oh the joys of the 9th month...
Yesterday I woke up with alot of pains in my tummy, it didn't feel like contractions, but they continued all day until Alan and I decided I should probably get checked out, to hospital we went! I though I had ate something bad and my tummy was upset, but I wanted to be sure baby was okay. After getting the monitors put on, apparently I was having some contractions, just little ones, and some cramping. So after getting some meds to relax my tummy, I was on my way home. This little guy is going to make a surprise appearance, I just know it! Nothing goes as planned especially if he has a personality like his daddy :)

Baby Chad

We had another ultrasound this morning to see how Chad is growing, currently he weighs 5lbs 4oz so he is working his way up to the top! Our Ultrasound tech was really nice, she stayed on Chad's face for awhile and we could see him moving his mouth open and close and his nose and eyes, it was incredible. In fact, we loved it! She got alot of pictures of his face and profile for us. Here are a couple:
ProfileI love this picture, look at those lips and nose and squished chubby cheeks!
There is nothing like getting pictures of our little boy! We cant wait to meet him!

Thankful

Just wanted to take some time out of our busy lives to list some things I'm thankful for this week and every week:

FINALS OVER-I finished mine this morning and Alan finishes his tonight. We are so excited for our break (even if its only two weeks!) Now to wait for grades to be posted....

DECORATING-Now that finals are over, I plan on focusing my break on getting Chad's room set up since I know once Block 3 starts I will be swamped again!

FAMILY-Our niece Brianna got baptized this last Saturday and we were so glad to be a part of it. Hearing everyone's testimony and being there to support each other is what families are all about.

BABY CHAD-There is nothing in this world better than feeling our son in my tummy and sharing those kicks with Alan. I'm worried I will miss him moving around in there once he's here! (But I will also be glad he is here safe and heathly too!)

HUSBAND-It is SO encouraging to have a husband that supports me in every decision I make and uplifts me even when I think I've failed at something. He always makes me focus on the brighter side of things.

and that's it!

Uncle and Jessi

This is what happens when Dan and Sarah are out of town and Uncle and Jessi are playing all day waiting for Aunt Alice to finish work at the office to go home!

Both of them are passed out!
