Happy Anniversary

I know I've posted enough today for all week, but I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my husband of two years. I know many of you that know us are thinking "Only two years?" since we've been dating for it seems like a decade but it's two years today!

I couldn't have asked Heavenly Father to bless me with a better man than Alan. He is everything and more I could ever need in my life and I'm so blessed and grateful for being able to share the rest of my life with him, there isn't anyone in the world I rather share it with. He is a great husband and one day will be a great father to our children. He always sets such a great example to me, and definitely knows how to keep me in line!

Love you Alan!

Monster Jam

Everytime a commercial for Monster Jam comes on the T.V. I get to hear Alan reminisce about his childhood and how much fun he had going every year. So this year for Christmas I decided it was about time to let Alan re-live those memories and got us tickets to Monster Jam. I didn't really know what to expect being that I have never been before, I knew it was a bunch of big trucks smashing cars, but I never though it would be so entertaining!

When we arrived....well, first the back story...We were discussing going one night and Sarah/Leah got whim of the adventure and also bought tickets even though we didn't all get to sit together. So we arrive there as a group and everyone finds their own seats, I'm waiting for Alan hanging out with Carl looking at T-Shirts for Imi with Gravedigger plastered all over them. (Imi is a BIG fan, probably as much as his Uncle Alan) Carl finally decides to spend the money to get Imi a really cool, really over-priced looking Gravedigger shirt. I KNOW without a doubt Imi will LOVE this shirt! (In fact, when he finally got it after the show, he told Leah "Ohhh! I'll wear it tomorrow Mom!" It was too funny!) So, I'm thinking standing there, how awesome it is that Carl really wanted to get Imi this shirt because of how excited he knew he would be, regardless of the cost, but also grateful I'm not having to spend any money on over-priced shirts UNTIL my husband arrives. What was I thinking? I'm married to the BIGGEST kid of them all! So needless to say, Uncle Alan and Imi have matching Gravedigger T-shirts to wear together and BOTH of them were way overly excited to have them!

It wasn't over yet though, after we sat down in our seats Alan talked about getting nachos even though we had just eaten dinner so I convinced him to ice cream. After watching the show and getting to see huge trucks fly all over the place smashing cars and flipping over, I have to say, all the stories Alan told about Monster Jam were totally true. It was a blast!

Alan made me promise to post a video of Gravedigger on our website, so if you're interested it's there along with some fun pictures.

Kinda Fun

What Alice Means
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. (only cause I'm the fifth child) You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. (lots of sleep)
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. (sounds familiar, must be a Bennett thing) You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. (That's just cause I like to be stressed out!) Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. (Yep, like how to keep my house clean) A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

A fun Video from this weekend

Brock and Jake were ALWAYS riding their Quads. Jake didn't even want to get off to eat lunch! Here they are riding around the campfire. Brock is 4 years old and Jakey is 3.

Sund Dunes

Last night Alan and I arrived home from a weekend spent at the Sand Dunes with the Porters. We left early Friday morning and hung out all weekend playing in the sand. We went to Gordon's Wells which is 15-20 miles from Yuma. Here are some pictures of our adventure! (More pictures on our website)

It was so fun to see all the kiddies driving around on their bikes and getting to watch them on the Quads. We got to go on the Rhino and Rail and had a great time.

For Mom

Well, I haven't been blogging much lately and my mom is not having it! :) So I've decided to fill everyone in on our last week or so.

Last weekend was the FIRST weekend in a month we actually had nothing to do, so we took advantage of it! Alan was planning on going snowboarding all day Saturday but came down with my flu and stayed home. He did get to go to the super cross with Dan, Hyrum and Cole which opened me up to a fun filled night of shopping with Leah, Cade and Isaac. The night before, Friday, we went to play with David, Lindsay and Logan in Casa Grande. We always play the Wii when we go over to hang out and of course David and Alan always win no matter how hard we try, BUT NOT THIS TIME! Lindsay scored in at FIRST and I round out at SECOND! Beat that boys! Lindsay and I got to talk about the new baby coming and names, and Alan and I got to love that little bugger do Logan. We had a nice relaxing weekend especially sleeping in until one on Saturday!

I started school again yesterday. I've been taking classes while being on the waiting list for nursing school to keep me busy. These classes are the last ones I can take before I start nursing school so I have to get in next semester right? I've even taken the classes you're suppose to take while you are completing nursing school and minimized my first two semesters of nursing to 10 credits and my last two semesters of nursing to 9 credits which I know I'll appreciate once it actually starts. This semester I'm satisfying my Humanities credits with History (Boooring!) and also taking Statistics to help me on my way to a Bachelors (More Boooring!) I was telling Alan after the first day, yesterday, that I don't think I can make it till May in two booooring classes! (Even though, I will) As soon as school is over this semester we will be on a cruise on our way to ALASKA! So I can definitely hang on until then! :)

Our Christmas/New Year's

Well, the holidays have officially come to a close. We had such a blast having Christmas through New Year's off work to spend time with our families and get to rest. (well maybe not rest, but have tons of fun) Let me fill you in on where we've been the last 2 weeks!

Sunday before Christmas my mom and dad arrived at our house and we all started our christmas vacation. Monday night Alan and I hosted Christmas Eve dinner at our house. Leah had an idea to do a fondue night so we made the Melting Pot's spinach cheese fondue (if you havent tried it, I highly recommend it) without fail and it actually turned out pretty yummy. We had tri-tip for our main course and then dipped starwberries, bananas, cheescake, etc in Sarah's chocolate fondue fountain. (Which all the kiddos got a HUGE kick out of)

after dinner Grandma read the kids a Christmas story and Leah's family opened new Christmas Pajama's!

On Christmas day we headed over to Dan and Sarah's house for brunch and family gift opening. We spent all day there playing with the kid's new toys, talking, hanging out and having family time.

After Christmas the next few days FLEW by! The guys: Dan, Alan and my dad went to the sand dunes leaving us gals for 3 days of GIRL time! We had some shopping trips, some lunches, and errands to run to get ready for the cabin.

On Friday we (the whole family) drove up to Pinetop to enjoy New Year's in a cabin my parents rented for us! There was tons of snow and sleding and we all had a great time! Alan and Dan went to Sunrise Ski Park on Saturday and Monday and did some snowboarding while the rest of us hung around the cabin, played in the snow, went sleding and drove around in Dan/Sarah's Rhino. We didn't even have to go very far to sled since the backyard of the cabin was the National Forest!

We finally arrived home yesterday afternoon and crashed after watching the Rose Bowl. I have to say this Christmas, although busy, was one of my favorites. Our family really spent some quality time together and we enjoyed spending it with them.

Our fun isn't quite over yet, tomorrow we have Susie, Chance and Justin coming in to visit for the weekend! We are so excited to get to spend some time with them too!
